I AM LESS HERE, AND MORE WITH YOU

You come in my dreams, so I sleep a little longer;
then thin wind touches me
and I grow increasingly lonely --
grey grass, won’t you stay two hours for me?
We can do nothing; we can sleep by the blue light
long for the distance that hangs by the rear window;
do a little something to keep each other awake.
You drive your black car for miles and hours,
I lay my head on the edge of the glass
trying to stitch back old wounds together,
these patches of hollow nothing
tar my obscenities.
You look at me and I lose myself;
now I am so incredibly happy, I almost never want to die,
second deaths hang by the noose;
you obliterate all things ugly and burning,
and suddenly my lost memories break loose.
I am less here, and more with you.
