All day
Scratching at my neck
Picking at my skin
I don’t do anything.
I do not ask for rationale.
I was sweating,
because of where I'm at:
to beat
the heat I called you,
and you had to call me back.
Pain is auditory
in this city.
Senseless and endless,
My feet unprotected
I am scratching at my neck
The sun is burning my toes.
Gracelessly in my rickshaw seat
immobile and drenched
my burning feet
remind me to breathe
in exhaust heat.
